General Functionality

What does HiPix do?

HiPix compresses all images in your PowerPoint presentation to reduce file size while maintaining visual quality. This allows you to email your presentation directly without converting it to PDF.

How do I install the HiPix Add-In?

You can install HiPix in two ways:

  • From the HiPix website: Fill out your name, email, and trial code on the download page. You’ll receive an email with the installation link and instructions.
  • From the Microsoft Office Add-In store: Open PowerPoint, go to Insert > Add-ins > Get Add-ins, search for “HiPix,” and click Add.

Is HiPix compatible with all versions of PowerPoint?

HiPix works with Microsoft PowerPoint 2016 and later, including Office 365.

How do I use HiPix to compress my presentation?

After installation, click the Add-Ins tab in PowerPoint. The HiPix menu will appear, select your compression level and click Compress.

How long does compression take?

  • 50MB–100MB: a few seconds
  • 300MB–500MB: 30–60 seconds, depending on your hardware

Compression & Quality

Will HiPix reduce the quality of my images?

No. HiPix uses smart compression algorithms that preserve image clarity while reducing file size.

Will PowerPoint effects be preserved after compression?

Yes. HiPix does not alter formatting, animations, or transitions, only image data is compressed.

Can I continue editing my presentation after compression?

Absolutely. The file remains in standard PowerPoint format.

Does HiPix overwrite my original file?

No. The compressed file is saved with “hipix” added to the filename. You can choose to keep or replace the original.

Does HiPix compress videos?

No. HiPix currently compresses images only.

Sharing & Exporting

Can I email my presentation directly from PowerPoint using HiPix?

Yes. HiPix enables direct emailing of your compressed PPTX file.

Does HiPix support cloud sharing?

While HiPix focuses on email sharing, you can manually upload the compressed file to services like OneDrive or Dropbox.

Troubleshooting

Why is my presentation still large after compression?

Check for embedded videos. Try a higher compression setting.

HiPix isn’t showing up in PowerPoint, what should I do?

Click the Add-Ins tab. If HiPix doesn’t appear, restart PowerPoint and check File > Options > Add-ins. Reinstall if needed.

Can I undo compression?

No. However, HiPix saves a separate compressed version. Always keep a backup of your original file.
